Meijer, based in Western Michigan, is trying to alleviate concerns about the shortage of turkey this year's Thanksgiving.

The retailer announced this week that they will not only "stock up well" on Thanksgiving, but will also reduce the price of their favorite Major frozen turkey on Thanksgiving to 33 cents per pound.

In addition, Meijer said they carried a variety of large and small birds to suit various gathering sizes.

This retailer offers a wide variety of turkeys; including fresh, frozen, organic and antibiotic-free birds to meet the preferences of every family. Meijer brand fresh turkey is priced at 99 cents per pound, and Butterball fresh turkey is priced at $1.99 per pound.

Each customer of all fresh and frozen turkeys is limited to two purchases, and the transaction is valid until November 27.

For the first time since the start of the 2020 pandemic, many families will spend their holidays in groups.

Don Sanderson, vice president of Meijer Foods Group, said that they are working hard to help normalize this Thanksgiving:

Our top priority is to bring value to our customers this holiday season. This Thanksgiving is of great significance to many of our customers as they return to a more "normal" tradition, and we hope to easily celebrate this return by providing affordable turkey for every gathering.

For families who don't like cooking, Meijer also accepts orders for pre-made calories and serves Thanksgiving dinner.

Customers can order dinner at their Meijer deli counter or call before November 23 (Tuesday).
