December is officially here, which means that Christmas songs are hardly avoided.

No matter where you go, whether it's Wegmans, gas stations or retail stores, you will surely hear festive tunes in all directions. For some people, this may be a bit annoying, but for others, it is something they have waited a whole year to enjoy.

Everyone seems to have Christmas songs that they like and Christmas songs that they cannot bear. For me, I like almost all versions of "Jingle Bells" and "Old Toy Trains", and any version of "Baby, it's cold outside" makes me upset.

But what is the most popular Christmas song in New York State?

For example, according to a study conducted by Verizon on streaming media, the most popular Christmas song in California is "Feliz Navidad", while in Michigan and Massachusetts it is "Silver Bells."

I know where your thoughts might have gone; Mariah Carey’s "All I Want for Christmas is You". According to a study by Verizon, this is actually not New York's answer.

The most popular Christmas song in New York State?

"This is the best time of the year"

"It's the Most Wonderful Time of the Year" was first recorded and released by Andy Williams in 1963. This song was composed by Edward Pola and George Wyle, and has been covered by many music artists of various genres in the past 48 years.

Garth Brooks and Harry Connick Jr. released two popular versions of this song-Brooks in 1999 and Connick Nick in 2008.

This is one of my favorites and I like the song version of Garth Brooks.
